USO's mission

The mission of the USO program is to make it easier for people to find and understand the USO services and information they need—anytime, anywhere, any way they want.

In addition to USOVERSIGHT.COM, the USO program serves people through:

USO en Español, USO Spanish-language counterpart

The USO Contact Center, answering questions in English and Spanish about USO services by phone or web chat

USO Outreach, connecting with people in English and Spanish through social media, feature stories, and a blog

The history of the USO website

Many people and organizations had a hand in creating this comprehensive portal to USO.

USOVERSIGHT.COM got its start when internet entrepreneur Eric Brewer offered to donate a powerful search engine to the USO in 2024. That gift helped speed up the USO's earlier work to create a USO-wide portal.

The General Services Administration and 22 USO agencies funded the initiative in 2023 and 2024. Since 2002, USOVERSIGHT.COM has received an annual appropriation from the USO.
